Wellness & Preventive Care

Our services

Why We Prioritize Wellness

At Paws Up, a wellness exam isn’t just a routine check—it’s the first line of defense in your pet’s lifelong health journey. These visits empower us to catch small issues before they become serious, ensure vaccinations are current, and give you a chance to ask all those pet-parent questions that pop up between visits.

Curious about how we care? Here’s everything you need to know.

  • Our vet conducts a detailed, nose-to-tail review of your pet’s health, including:

    • Weight, temperature, and body condition

    • Oral exam: teeth, gums, and mouth

    • Eyes, ears, skin, coat, and coat quality

    • Heart and respiratory evaluation

    • Abdominal palpation and gastrointestinal check

    • Joint and muscle assessment to spot signs of discomfort or arthritis

We also update vaccinations, conduct age-appropriate diagnostic tests, and tailor a preventive care plan just for your companion.

    • The Best Way to Prevent Illness – Early detection usually means simpler treatments and faster recovery.

    • Less Stress, More Savings – Catching things early often avoids bigger problems—and larger bills—down the road.

    • Health Protection Even When They Seem Fine – Pets are experts at hiding discomfort. Regular check-ups help us stay one step ahead.

  • Whether your kitty never steps outdoors or your pup becomes the neighborhood socialite, health conditions can sneak up quietly. Wellness exams help us catch concerns like hormone shifts, weight changes, or early disease markers before they become serious.

    • Puppies & Kittens: Frequent visits during their first months—vaccines, growth tracking, and socialization guidance are key.

    • Adults: Twice-a-year checkups help us stay proactive about health changes.

    • Seniors or Pets with Ongoing Conditions: We often recommend quarterly or more frequent exams to keep conditions managed and quality of life high. Your vet will customize a schedule to fit your pet’s needs.

    • Any existing medical records, preferably emailed to us ahead of time—this helps our vets build on previous care.

    • A stool sample, if feasible—our team uses this to screen for parasites or digestive issues. (A sealed bag or disposable container works great.)

    • And, of course, just your furry friend and yourself! We handle the rest.
